About Yvonne DiVita

My friends call me The Book Whisperer. I'm a Book Coach and Author advisor. I help entrepreneurs and successful business professionals put their story into a book. A book that matters. That leaves a legacy. That creates community. That helps build business and invites more speaking opportunities. A book that builds authority. I’m a writer. An author. An advisor. A former book publisher. In 2015, I was awarded the title of Woman of the Year in the Women in the Pet Industry Network. It was the most wonderful accolade and highest honor I have ever received! My favorite saying is: "It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things." Elinor Smith, Aviator

12 Ways to Fail As An Author, Continued

I would love it if we could rely on the advice and insight of family and friends, but the truth is so different. These are not the people to trust when it comes to deciding to write a book. Their opinions will be suspect. Yes, share and discuss and take their thoughts to heart. But don’t believe them when they say, “Yes, that’s a great idea! It’s going to be a best-seller!”

12 Ways to Fail As An Author

Ladies, look carefully at your success and be proud of what you’ve accomplished. Now, share it.  Because that’s what you’re doing when you write a book. You’re sharing. Everyone knows sharing is caring. By writing your success story down, you inspire so many other women who are struggling, maybe just the way you struggled, way back when. You inspire these women to keep going, because you become an example, a mentor, a vision of the success they could achieve, if they keep moving forward the way you did.

The one you've thought about for so long? What would happen?" This image is attached to a post titled "What if you did write that book this year?"

What If You Did Write That Book This Year?

I wasn’t thinking of dollars and cents, while I wrote. I was thinking of dollars and sense. The dollars I would invest by self-publishing and the sense of pride and accomplishment I would have once the book was completed. And, the sense to know the book was not going to make me rich and famous.

in my soul.

Our talk is about writing, about getting published. Getting published is no mean feat, even in this day and age of print on demand and respectable self-publishing. But, getting published twenty or more years ago, THAT was quite an accomplishment. Amy’s energy and enthusiasm for this topic is nothing new to me, which is a big reason I wanted to share it with you.

A Smart Woman Conversation with Margo Lovett – Author, Podcaster, Entrepreneur

Margo Lovett has a voice that makes my soul melt. There is a quality to the softness of it that makes me listen more closely to what she’s saying. It also exudes confidence. When she speaks, I think the world is listening. Certainly, my heart hears and tells me this is a good thing.

25 Things A Blog Can and WILL Do For You

I could have written, 30 things a blog can and will do for you. Or, 50 things. Or 10 things.

The number isn’t important. The “things” are important. The things and what they can and will do for you, if you work at them.

Let’s discuss.

Thoughts on Doilies When Everything Old is New Again

Life does go full circle. It happens when you’re not looking. One moment you’re a teenager tasked with dusting and sweeping and maybe making beds that you did not sleep in, and the next moment you’re a grandmother with your own home, and you’re still dusting and sweeping, but now, it’s okay. Because the rooms you clean, are yours. Because the bed you make, is yours.
