About Yvonne DiVita

My friends call me The Book Whisperer. I'm a Book Coach and Author advisor. I help entrepreneurs and successful business professionals put their story into a book. A book that matters. That leaves a legacy. That creates community. That helps build business and invites more speaking opportunities. A book that builds authority. I’m a writer. An author. An advisor. A former book publisher. In 2015, I was awarded the title of Woman of the Year in the Women in the Pet Industry Network. It was the most wonderful accolade and highest honor I have ever received! My favorite saying is: "It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things." Elinor Smith, Aviator

I asked her how she came up with the title and she told me, “People get emotional about their work. They often get to a point where they think it’s just a bunch of yuck.” Well, she wants you to lean into that yuck – accept the challenge. Move on from whatever mess or disorganization is holding you back. It’s exactly when your book is not matching your idea of a perfect experience, that you need to lean into it and keep working.

Senior Resort Living in a New Sanctuary Model – A Talk with Jaye Miller

Our conversation was sort of all over the place because there was so much to talk about! We talked about individual people having talents and being put on this earth to use those talents. We talked about success and how sometimes, being silent in success, or not so flamboyant that you attract media attention, is better because you get more done.

Don’t Just Learn a Recipe – Learn a Culture! with MARDA’S GIFT Film

Years ago, Marda Stoliar began telling Sheila Rittenberg about her students and their special reasons for learning to bake – from wanting to be free from society’s expectations (willing to start a cultural change in their community) to desiring a way to help others, family members sometimes, become more than even they thought they could.

I’m working on The HOW TO WRITE A BOOK Book, Part II. To be completed, probably in the Fall, also. This is the second in a series of books planned for our How To Write A Book series of educational books on writing. Our focus is on non-fiction as those are the authors we work with.

Writing and Publishing Advice, Spring 2021

In fact, if you don’t prove you have an established platform, with thousands of possible readers, traditional publishers won’t even talk to you. No matter how great your proposal is. Oh, yeah, I forgot – before you do or prove any of the above to a traditional publisher, you have to prove you can sell the book and earn back your royalty for the advance. At which time, they will are likely to wave bye-bye.

12 Ways to Fail As An Author, Final Four

Who is behind the “you” that shows up at networking events. You need to tell a story, not give a report. Too many first authors give a report – they act as outside eyeballs giving a word by word description of what happened here or there, and when.
