About Yvonne DiVita

My friends call me The Book Whisperer. I'm a Book Coach and Author advisor. I help entrepreneurs and successful business professionals put their story into a book. A book that matters. That leaves a legacy. That creates community. That helps build business and invites more speaking opportunities. A book that builds authority. I’m a writer. An author. An advisor. A former book publisher. In 2015, I was awarded the title of Woman of the Year in the Women in the Pet Industry Network. It was the most wonderful accolade and highest honor I have ever received! My favorite saying is: "It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things." Elinor Smith, Aviator

An image of a woman in an apricot-colored sweater, sitting at a table with a laptop and writing in a journal. Text over the image reads "What if you did write your book this year? The one you've thought about for so long? What would happen?" This image is attached to a post titled "What if you did write that book this year?"

What If You Did Write That Book This Year?

I wasn’t thinking of dollars and cents, while I wrote. I was thinking of dollars and sense. The dollars I would invest by self-publishing and the sense of pride and accomplishment I would have once the book was completed. And, the sense to know the book was not going to make me rich and famous.

Award Winning Authorpreneur and Animal Behavior Consultant Amy Shojai Talks Writing Books

in my soul.

Our talk is about writing, about getting published. Getting published is no mean feat, even in this day and age of print on demand and respectable self-publishing. But, getting published twenty or more years ago, THAT was quite an accomplishment. Amy’s energy and enthusiasm for this topic is nothing new to me, which is a big reason I wanted to share it with you.

A Smart Woman Conversation with Margo Lovett – Author, Podcaster, Entrepreneur

Margo Lovett has a voice that makes my soul melt. There is a quality to the softness of it that makes me listen more closely to what she’s saying. It also exudes confidence. When she speaks, I think the world is listening. Certainly, my heart hears and tells me this is a good thing.

25 Things A Blog Can and WILL Do For You

I could have written, 30 things a blog can and will do for you. Or, 50 things. Or 10 things.

The number isn’t important. The “things” are important. The things and what they can and will do for you, if you work at them.

Let’s discuss.

How To Be SMART About Your Goals

Today, we’ll talk a bit about SMART goals. And, I don’t just mean how to be smart about setting goals. Instead, I want you to learn how to understand SMART intentions and get them to work for you.

Thoughts on Doilies When Everything Old is New Again

Life does go full circle. It happens when you’re not looking. One moment you’re a teenager tasked with dusting and sweeping and maybe making beds that you did not sleep in, and the next moment you’re a grandmother with your own home, and you’re still dusting and sweeping, but now, it’s okay. Because the rooms you clean, are yours. Because the bed you make, is yours.

The Language of Growing Old in America

I am on the near side of what our society labels as old. I passed my 60th birthday some years ago and I admit that for a short bit of time it had me adopting the societal norm – that of thinking I’m old and unable to be a contributing and active member of society.

You can only decide how you’re going to live. Now.” This image is attached to a post titled "Decide to live - fully and happily - now!"

Decide to Live – Fully and Happily – Now!

Our life, according to the society we live in, ends when we retire. It’s time to stand up and shout, “I’m not done yet!”

It’s time to throw the old notions of aging and vibrant living out the window, give them a proper burial, throw dirt on them, a lot of dirt.

Wake Up To A Real 100+ Year Life

As someone who never expected to live to be 100, and who couldn’t have cared less, I am now pausing in my senior-hood and giving this idea a chance to grow in my consciousness. I don’t feel old yet (well, some days I do), and while I have a drawer in my night stand with my medication, only three are prescription.
